Had a really good time in Sin City doing very little sinning. (Mainly eating too much and I gambled away $2) I’ll post more when I am not so tired.
After the cut is a cool video of a rocket launch. It looks like every other rocker launch but stay with it until about 1:53 and experience the cool

A possible break in blogging
I am just about to head out to pick up and pal, then to breakfast, and then the five hour drive to Las Vegas. I’ll be in Vegas Thursday through Saturday returning Sunday, but I don’t know what my internet situation is going to be like so this may be the first break in blogging for year 2012.
Frankly I’m shocked I made it this far into the year without missing a day.

Ready for fun
How a minor thing bugged me for over ten years.
I have a mind that once it latches onto a puzzle or mystery it doesn’t let go, ever, quitting only when an answer is presented. That doesn’t mean that every second of every day will be spent gnawing the problem, but that problem will resurface in my mind, like debris after a shipwreck, fouling my thought chains at random and often inopportune times.
Here’s an excellent example. Continue reading
Amazing
Two weeks ago I went and saw a chiropractor, at my sweetie-wife’s suggestion abut my chronic and severe knee pain. (Some days it would be so bad all I could do would be stay home and ice them.)
Well, I haven’t had any serious flares of pain from my knees in the two weeks since Dr. Mackay (pronounced Mackai) started treating me. It has been amazing and wonderful. Next weekend, walking around Las vegas will be the acid test.
A startling busy day
Zoo picture
Thanks to the fantastic work of my chiropractor, me sweetie and I went to the zoo today and I took my camera along. I haven’t taken my camera in ages because even the slight weight of a digital camera seem like a lot when my knees start hobbling me.
Today we walked for more than an hour and I had no knee pain. We left in order to have lunch before seeing a movie. (Review tomorrow)
Here’s what I think is the best pic I took today. It’s a North American Grizzy, though not fully grown.
Learning to walk
Normally that would be a metaphor, but in my case it is the precise truth. I am learning to walk again.
Luckily it is not from a serious injury of disease, but rather it seems I never walked properly at all. My right foot turns out and that, apparently, has been the source of my knee issues. So I am trying to retrain my giant gait and all my stances so that my foot point forward and not out.
My knees feels better, but it is a long process learning a new habit.
A very decent day overall
Today started early as I had an appointment to see my sweetie-wife’s chriopractor about my bum knees. Now I will admit to being skeptical as to the usefulness of this visit, but I agreed to hear the man and see what sort of things me might try.
He agreed with a physical therapist that had diagnosed my giant gait as being off. (Apparently I walk with my feet pointed outward.) After just one treatment the pain in my knee was gone. By the end of the evening it was coming back but far from as severe as it had been. I will stick with this and see how it goes for the next two months.
In the evening I ran my D&D game and that game went pretty well.
edited for spelling
Not a bad weekend
Well, the weekend is coming to a close and all in all things weren’t too bad. Friday night’s D&D game, where I play a Paladin, was exciting stuff and for once my Paladin stole the show from the two Dwarves, slaying the big monster so quickly there was little for them to do beside taking about henchlings.
Saturday morning was a hit too pricey but there was nothing to be done. I needed 360 degree x-rays for the braces that are going to be put on my teeth and for the potential jaw surgery. The x-ray set me back nearly $400.
Saturday evenings D&D game where I am the game master went well. I got a new player character introduced and the rescue mission went off very well for the players. After the game I went to a midnight showing of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” at a local art house theater. While the print started off scratched, it cleaned up very quickly and I throughly enjoyed myself.
Today has been hanging with my sweetie-wife, walking in the park, and playing a couple of games of “Dominion.” (We each won 1 game.)
Now, in the early evening/late afternoon, the predicted rains have materialized and we can settle in and just listen to the storm.
