The Tax Compromise
meh
I would not have cried a river of tears f the tax rates had gone back to the level that they were at during the 90s, not am I going to get mad if the tax rates remain where they have been for the last ten years.
My personal preference is a flat tax, the same percentage on all persons and all sources of income. Anything else is by definition treat people unequally and that I detest.
Still we have seen what happen when the republicans are faced with a choise of raising taxes on the upper brackets or spending money that they do not have to keep those taxes at the current level. They spend money that they do not have.
Fiscally responsible my eye.

Going Out
Relaxing Sunday
Today I hung out with my Sweetie-wife for the day. We started the day at the World Famous San Diego Zoo. (While I was off have my Vegas Adventure, she had gotten us new memberships at the Zoo.) Sadly my knees were less than stellar and I could only amble around the Zoo for just over an hour.
Afterwards we shopped, had lunch and then returned home for a relaxing day of just the two of us.
Nothing exciting, but the happy little moments that define a happy life.
Quote Of The Day
Conservative columnist and former speech writer to Ronald Reagan, writig to Sarah Palin on Ronald Reagan.
The point is not “He was a great man and you are a nincompoop,” though that is true.

More on Vegas
So after the Gun Store I drove over to the Atomic Testing Museum.
This place was very cool. IT took me about 2.5 hours to go through the entire thing and many of the exhibits were very informative. They had mock-ups of shells from both Atomic Annie and A Davie Crockett.
I also learned more of what JFK called for when he called for the USA to send a man to the moon and return him safely to earth. That was point 1 of his vision for space. The very next point was accelerating development of a nuclear rocket.
(chemical rockets are very limited. If you really want to scoot around our solar system, nuclear is the way to go.)
It’s a shame all anyone remembers is the decade to get to the moon.
