Wouldn’t an electoral college tie be resolved by the House of Representatives? That is not nearly as nasty as the 2000 Florida recount mess.
No. I think the real nightmare is a flip of the 2004 race, where Obama would lose the national popular vote by more than 3.5%, yet still win the electoral college by carrying Ohio. Especially if the Ohio outcome was an Al Franken style recount victory.
