So after battling the Burbank traffic to join me, my Sweetie-Wife and I barely made it down the Medieval Times in Anaheim before show time. We got into the place just moment before that started calling out colors to seat people.
The way it works is that the audience is divided into colored sections and each section has its own Knight. We were in the black&white section. Here is a picture of the MC of the event just as seating was starting.
My camera is not a great camera and while I tried to get lots of pictures from the show not very many were usable. Most came our just an impressionistic swirl of colors.

Here’s a shot of the arena with the CO2 fog in place. As you can see the fog is fairly thick and when they have it on at full blast you can not see across the arena.

The MC in the show also plays the King’s Marshal and here he was astride his charger. I must say I thought this was a fantastic looking horse.

Here is the King during he arrival via the pageant. The fag has been allowed to dissipate and you can get a better idea of the size of the area. We were sitting in the front row of our section as I had paid for the “King’s Package’ upgrade. (Since the theater was having a $15 off special, that made the upgrade just $5.)

Here are most of the knights in the show. The Green Knight – and villain of the piece – is just off the frame to the left. The Knight with black&White on his horse on the right was our Knight. While he did his best he lost at every competition in the tournament.
Not all the games are rigged. In fact only the combat has predetermined outcomes. For the games of skill, such as spearing a ring with a lance while charging on horseback, the knight are doing their level best.
.
Here’s a better shot of ‘our’ Knight. The lances were breakaway, but they did charge each other with them and smash them into each other’s shields. It was impressive to watch.

And the best picture I have of all the Knights. Note the Blue Knight – I joked he must have been an exchange student of some sort.

There were many others aspects I simply could not get photographs of, like the falcon they flew over the theater, the combat itself and so forth.
I must admit I had a really good time and I am glad I finally got to have the long planed and sought after day.
um, your spell checker is working against you again. in the caption the the fourth pic down where you were going for fog you didn’t get it. just as an fyi…
One of the things I do love about Medieval Times is how real much of it is. Tilting the rings is tilting the rings and you can’t fake it of plan it. Did you also go to their museum? Our museum even has glass blowing sometimes, though it needs to be staffed more.
